Your First Visit to Our Cedar Lake Practice

We would appreciate if you reserve one to one and a half hours for your first visit to our office.  This gives the doctor the time needed to fully explore your condition and appropriately attend to your condition.

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

When you come in for your first visit we will guide you through the paperwork which is necessary for you to fill out.  The paperwork includes all the background information regarding your health.

The doctor will go through a thorough consultation where you will discuss all the information regarding your health condition.  The doctor will ask you many questions looking for specific information.  This information will help the doctor better understand your condition.

The doctor will then guide you through an examination.  The examination will include all the appropriate orthopedic and neurological tests necessary to understand your situation.  At this point the doctor will know whether or not chiropractic care is appropriate for you.  If you are a candidate for chiropractic care, the doctor will take x-rays if appropriate.  If your condition requires different intervention, the doctor will refer you to the appropriate health care provider.

After the examination the doctor will begin your care if necessary.

We Explain Everything First

The purpose of your consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem.

Gerstenkorn Family Chiropractic patients appreciate that we explain everything in advance!

Dr. Scott Asks some important questions of interest to Cedar Lake residents - Chiropractor Cedar Lake Dr. Scott Asks...

What's the difference between a "good" drug and a "bad" drug?
As a chiropractor, I see the use of many drugs (legal or illegal) as merely symptom treating. Worse, virtually every drug produces unwanted effects. The effects of chiropractic are largely positive effects. If you're a Cedar Lake parent, consider carefully before giving your child a cough medication, cold remedy or pain reliever so this sort of question doesn't arise in the first place.
Why do so many drugs require a prescription?
Because they can be dangerous? I chose a chiropractic career specifically because it avoids artificial means of pain relief. Our Cedar Lake chiropractic practice attracts health-conscious families that prefer a safe and natural solution. Ready to get started? Call our office today.
